• Researchers managed to activate the Stargate, and Dr. Ernest Littlefield, fiancé of Catherine Langford, traveled through and is lost during the experiment. The military canceled the experiments after his disappearance and the Stargate is moved to an armory and locked away. (SG1: "The Torment of Tantalus")

• Franklin D. Roosevelt ended his elected third term as President of the United States, dying shortly after being inaugurated for his fourth. (SG1: "The Torment of Tantalus")

• World War II ended. The Soviet Union, having invaded Germany, acquired the DHD for the Stargate found in Giza. (SG1: "Watergate")
