American researchers manage to activate the Stargate. Dr. Ernest Littlefield, fiancé of Catherine Langford, traveled through and was lost during the experiment due to a non-functional DHD on the other side of the wormhole. The military canceled the experiments after his disappearance and the Stargate was moved to an armory and locked away.	SG1:"The Torment of Tantalus"
Franklin D. Roosevelt ended his elected third term as President of the United States, dying shortly after being inaugurated for his fourth	SG1:"The Torment of Tantalus"
World War II ended. The Soviet Union, having invaded Germany, acquired the DHD for the Stargate found in Giza.	SG1:"Watergate"
