• The Apollo 11 moon mission successfully landed two men on the Moon. Lt. Hammond watched the moon landing from beside his father's hospital bed.

• Richard Nixon is elected President of the United States (SG1: "1969 (episode)")

• SG-1 travels to August 4 of this year, through a mishap with the Stargate passing through a solar flare. They meet a young George Hammond, who helps them get back to the future. Teal'c also learns to drive. They finally manage to return to 1999 on August 11. (SG1: "1969 (episode)")
