  • When SG-1 return to Earth after coming under attack from Tanith who Teal'c later kills, the Stargate malfunctions and Teal'c becomes trapped in the Stargate's buffer, and any incoming or outgoing wormholes would have resulted in him becoming lost forever so all operations are temporarily halted. Dr. Daniel Jackson negotiates with Russians to use their Dial Home Device and manages to remove Teal'c from the Stargate buffer. Unfortunately, the Russian DHD is damaged beyond repair in the process while Dr. Meredith Rodney McKay who had arrived to help Major Samantha Carter is later reassigned to Russia much to McKay's own displeasure. (SG1: "48 Hours")
  • Anubis attempts to destroy the planet by using a Stargate Destroyer but ultimately fails thanks to the efforts of the SGC. With the ongoing crisis, Dr. Rodney McKay is recalled from Russia on the orders of the Pentagon and temporarily reassigned to the SGC much to Sam Carter's displeasure although McKay later departs the SGC again after the crisis has ended.
