The Aemon is a race of human from the planet Aemonus. The Aemon are descendants of the ancient Roman from Earth whose ancestors were taken from Earth by Goa'uld for several thousand years ago. Sometime before 1999, so hit Aemon of a plague that only affected all of them male Aemon that eventually caused them to die out.

Aemon people were facing extinction, but thanks Aemon advanced recombinant genetics and artificial insemination so got them Aemon female births and the population remained stable. Those female Aemon forming a planetary Senate of them named Global Senate. And in 1999 so hit them with their long-lost Tau'ri brethren and only became somewhat afraid of the men of SG-5 but it did those allied with them. (RPG: "Friends and Foes: Stargate Season Two")
