The Al’kesh spaceship is a powerful Goa'uld medium-range bomber used in area bombardments of planetary surfaces.
[edit] Overview
Al'kesh can fly in outer space and in atmosphere. Like other large Goa'uld spacecrafts, it possesses Ring transporters .An Al'kesh's plasma charges are powerful enough to penetrate and collapse the Tok'ra's underground Tok'ra crystal tunnels. It possesses both shields and cloaking generators. It is also a light troop transport used to land Jaffa on a planet as part of military action. It is also the class of vessel that Osiris had cloaked in orbit while she beamed down to Earth to probe Daniel Jackson’s mind while he slept, to get him to subconsciously decipher the text on an ancient tablet.
An Al'kesh's cargo hold is large enough to contain a Stargate (indeed, several); Osiris' former vessel was used by the Trust to steal the Earth gate, and Teal'c later used another Al'kesh to position a Stargate near a Supergate as part of a plan to jump a wormhole from one to the other.
The Al'kesh is also one of the standard vessels of Lucian Alliance traders and smugglers. (SG1: "Thor's Chariot", "Summit", "The Ties That Bind", " Chimera", "Endgame", "The Pegasus Project", "Continuum")
