Anubis' mothership was a new mothership built to serve as the flagship of the Goa'uld System Lord Anubis.

[edit] Overview

Anubis' superweapon

This was a massive vessel of a circular design with numerous spikes protruding from the edges of the vessel. Unlike the Ha'tak class, this ship did not contain a pyramid on its top but instead had a dome shaped structure present. The dome contained a powerful superweapon which was built into the vessel. When activated, the dome rises and extends into a flower pattern which serves as the emitters for the superweapon. (SG1: "Full Circle")

In an emergency where the ship will face destruction, the top part of the dome contains an escape vessel allowing the commanding Goa'uld to depart the vessel in case the ship is crippled or destroyed. (SG1: "Homecoming")

This mothership also contained an unknown number of Death glider's. Furthermore, it was capable of carrying a large number of ground troops for deployment on other worlds. (SG1: "Fallen")

[edit] Technological features

[edit] Weapon systems

A turret aiming at a F-302.

The ship contained numerous emplacements where standard weapons were located which were situated on turret based structures. These weapons contained two large cannons that fire Staff cannon-like bolts which were used as its standard weapons and also served as a point defense weapon against enemy fighters.

The primary weapon component of the vessel, however, was its superweapon. This was a massive device that was built into the mothership and required a special power source. Once attached, the weapon extended and fired yellowish bolts of energy that was capable of extending across space and striking any enemy vessels nearby. These bolts were easily capable of destroying a Ha'tak type mothership. (SG1: "Full Circle", "Fallen")

[edit] Defensive systems

Weapons fire impacts the shields.

Like a number of Goa'uld starships, this flagship of Anubis contained a powerful shield which protected the vessel from enemy weapon fire. Weapon fire that struck the shield resulted in an orange energy field extending across the craft protecting the hull from damage.

A weakness within the shield system was that its performance degraded when within the atmosphere of a planet making it vulnerable to an attack. Shield strength is reduced to only 40 percent, severely weakening the large craft. (SG1: "Homecoming") Furthermore, they proved incapable of protecting against the shield-penetrating properties of Drone weapons. (SG1: "Lost City, Part 2") The shields were so powerful that the two of these motherships in existence only had them penetrated when an F-302 jumped through them in hyperspace and when it was in the atmosphere of Langara. The shields were so powerful they withstood an entire Goa'uld fleet attacking them and only when the fleet attacked the ship within the atmosphere of Langara were they penetrated and then only due to being at 40%. The only other thing that penetrated them were drone weapons, but those are so powerful that they tend to go through any shields they are fired at.

[edit] Power systems

The power core.

The base model of the ship contained a reactor system which powered the ship systems such as standard weapons, shields and hyperdrive.

The full weight of the crafts power came from the special energy core which was used to harness the power of the Eyes of the Goa'uld. With these gems present, the ships capabilities were greatly increased allowing it to survive the assault from a fleet of Ha'tak motherships as well as power the ships built-in superweapon. (SG1: "Full Circle")

After the destruction of the Eyes, attempts were made at using Naquadria as a power source to substitute that of the Eyes. Despite initial experimentation, an overload occurred which damaged the craft. (SG1: "Homecoming")

[edit] Other systems

Like most Goa'uld starships, Anubis's mothership contained a hyperdrive allowing for faster-than-light travel within the Milky Way galaxy. (SG1: "Full Circle")

In addition to this, the vessel contained a Ring transporter system allowing for the deployment of troops onto a planet which contained another receiving set of rings. (SG1: "Fallen")

[edit] Locations

[edit] Bridge

The Peltak of Anubis Mothership was large: it had 2 computer outlets, one sitting by the window, the other computer built like a table which the first prime would stand at. The main entrance had statues of Anubis; there was a platform adjacent to the larger window, which contained Anubis's Throne.

[edit] Computer room

The computer control room had a seat and a computer outlet one could sit at. It worked partly through hologram technology.

[edit] Interrogation chamber

The interrogation chamber was built so that one could strap down prisoners and interrogate them.

[edit] History

The vessel was created an unknown time but was fielded by the fallen System Lord Anubis who used it as his flagship in his attempt at dominating the High Council of System Lords in order to become the overall leader of the Goa'uld Empire. To that end, he took his massive starship to the planet Abydos in his continued search for the Eyes of the Goa'uld which he wanted to use as a power source for his motherships superweapon.

Lord Yu's fleet attacks the ship

During a standoff against SG-1, his ship was surrounded by Ha'tak motherships belonging to Lord Yu who demanded his surrender. However, Anubis managed to trick the Ascended Daniel Jackson into giving him the Eye of Ra. WIth that accomplished, he unleashed the power of the superweapon against Yu's fleet which were decimated with the survivors retreating. With that complete, Anubis used the weapon to destroy the planet Abydos. (SG1: "Full Circle").

Anubis later took his flagship to the planet Vis Uban after learning from Ancient records of a city there. This was because Anubis was looking for the Lost City of the Ancients in order to secure his dominion over the galaxy. Once in orbit around the planet, he deployed his soldiers to find details on the Lost City but found out it was a trick orchestrated by the Tau'ri who infiltrated his mothership and used one of their fighters to attack a weak point in the flagships power core which destroyed the power source. (SG1: "Fallen")

This resulted in the loss of Anubis's chief advantage over the other Goa'uld but he managed to learn from a captured Jonas Quinn of a powerful variation of Naquadah that was located on his homeworld. To that end, Anubis traveled to the Human world in order to conquer it and use the planet's ore to refuel his motherships superweapon. However, he was thwarted in his attempts at securing Thanos's research by SG-1 who managed to convince Lord Ba'al to attack Anubis's mothership whilst it was in the atmosphere of Kelowna. His mothership was destroyed but not before Anubis managed to retreat in his escape craft. (SG1: "Homecoming")

Anubis' second mothership is destroyed by Drone weapons

Despite the loss of his flagship, Anubis returned in command of a rebuilt mothership which led a fleet to the planet Earth in order to claim the Lost City of the Ancients. After arriving in the system, he probed the planet's defenses and attempted to lay claim to the facility in the worlds South Pole. However, he was thwarted in his goal by Colonel Jack O'Neill who activated the chair weapon platform in the Antarctic outpost thus sending a massive swarm of Ancient drone weapons that destroyed Anubis's flagship as well as his fleet. (SG1: "Lost City, Part 2")

In an alternate reality where the Stargate program never existed, this massive mothership was in the service of the Sovereign Ba'al who used it as his flagship. Taking his armada of vessels he traveled to Earth in order to bring it within his empire. (SG1: "Continuum")
