Ara is a former member of the Satedan Planetary Forces, turned Wraith worshipper and was a friend of Ronon Dex.
In 1998, during the culling of Sateda, she and Rakai, Tyre, Morika and Hemi were on another planet, fighting the Wraith, but was captured. After some time, she was contantly fed on and given the Gift of Life several times until she swore allegience to the Wraith. She went with Rakai and Tyre to a planet where they finally came across Ronon and his team. When they went to a Wraith facility, Ronon eventually found out that she is Wraith worshipper. Ronon denounced them and fought them. Ara was the first to be killed, when she surprised Rakai, who had a knife and cut her throat with it. (ATL: "Reunion")
