The holographic technology of the Asgard is incredibly advanced, close to that of the Ancients during their last millennia before they ascended. These technologies are often incorporated into the Halls on their protected planets, and it is possible to utilize them in communications with the Asgard High Council.
Asgard holography allows a hologram to be projected over a distance of several kilometres from their source onto ships, or transmitted to another projector for long-range visual communication. Unlike the holograms of the Ancients, Asgard holograms possess no physical integrity and cannot affect, or be affected by, material objects. They can, however, project and detect sound, and can be projected through Goa'uld shields and onto their ships.
