Atlantis Expedition

The Atlantis Expedition is an expedition composed of the Tau'ri who travelled to Atlantis, as well as several different natives of the Pegasus Galaxy.

At least two dozen countries are confirmed to have at least one member in the expedition. The list below are the flags that were seen on the flagpatches on the expedition members;

The expedition often wear standard issues uniforms. Each member has a flag patch that contains the flag of the member's home country. They are also colour coded. The colours indicate what area the members are part of;

  • Red (civilian, leaders)
  • Blue (scientist)
  • Yellow (medical)
  • Black (military)
  • Green (technician)

In 2007, another variant of the uniform was introduced. (ATL: "Reunion")

  • Athosians: A pre-industrial civilization, the Athosians were the first Pegasus natives the Atlantis expedition encountered. After their planet was culled by the Wraith, they moved to Atlantis.
  • Genii: An advanced, militaristic culture with a technology level similar to mid-20th century Earth, that hide under the mask of simple, Amish-like farmers.
  • Alterans (Ancients): A historical, technically highly advanced race that once existed on Earth and other planets through out the Milky Way galaxy and are the builders of the Stargates. The Ancients moved from Earth to the planet in the Pegasus galaxy, taking their spacefaring city Atlantus with them, in order to spread new life.
  • Wraith: This hive-based species drove the Ancients out of the Pegasus galaxy around 8000 BC. They maintain thousands of worlds populated by humans as a source of food, and they feed off the life force of other beings.
  • Satedans: The Satedans had an industrialized technological civilization with large cities and energy weapons. They met the fate of all advanced civilizations in the Pegasus Galaxy when they were attacked and apparently destroyed seven years ago by the Wraith.
  • Hoffans: A race of humans that have a technological level similar to middle 20th century Earth.
  • Proculus: A pacific, pre-technological, Wraith-free human civilization thanks to the protection of their goddess, Athar, who turns out to be the Ancient Chaya Sar, punished by the Others to be able to help only her people .
  • Daganian: The people from the planet Dagan, an old Atlantis outpost. A ZPM, which they call Pontentia, was entrusted to them 10.000 years ago, but the order of monks that protected it was culled by the Wraith a long time ago. The Atlantis team helps them find the ZPM, but the Dagans take it away, since they can only give it back to the Ancients and the humans, even if they live in Atlantis, are not Ancients
  • Olesian: A technologically advanced civilization. They say they pride themselves on being hospitable and civilised people.
  • Ballkan: A Middle-Ages level human civilization the Athosians trade with. Some Satedan survivors went there after their city fell.
