Axsel Reynolds was a Tau'ri Major who was a member of SGR-2 serving under Stargate Command around two years after the destruction of the Ori.

Biography[]

Axsel Reynolds

Axsel Reynolds.

Reynolds was in the backup ground team in Antarctica.[1]

On Amarna, Captain Axsel lit up Ashrak to kill their cloaks for his team SGR-2, so the soldiers could kill them. Most fighting was close quarters, and he took a blade to the side. They lost the mine.[2]

On the Piramess mission, Captain Axsel found his job next to impossible as he couldn't see anything when the weather control device turned on and created a storm.[3]

When the System Lords Third Battle Group fought at the SGC, he was in the elevator, on his way down to gate level, when the device went off. He dodged Goa'uld and fought an Ashrak to get to the rear armory and get a weapon. After he was geared up he took position in the power distribution room and picked off those that tried to sneak in to divert power away from the failsafe. After the invasion was repelled, Reynolds was worried he was going to have a hard time getting over what happened. He was also promoted to Major.[1]

He was among those that went to Leonops in the mission to investigate the healing tech located there. When the device was reactivated, they were stuck in the arena killing each other and resurrecting. Reynolds lost track of time when it went down and just killed as many as he could. Eventually the device shut off, leaving him and the others alive.[4]

Personality[]

"I don't think of myself as callous, or cold, but I suppose in my line of work, a certain detachment from emotion is healthy."
Major Axsel Reynolds[src]

Axsel used to be emotionally detached from his work. While he loved his job hunting down the Goa'uld, he also to his embarrassment, viewed it on some level like a game and just notches on a stock. He'd put himself into a mental space where he would put Axsel, the guy that chats over coffee and makes jokes, aside and buried deep, and would become Captain Reynolds. As he believed if he didn't, he couldn't be that guy anymore when he would get back from missions.[4]

However, after the invasion at the SGC, he didn't have time to do any of that psyching and when he had to fight just to get a weapon, he had never fought like that or had been scared like that before. Major Reynolds wasn't affected but he was worried Axsel was going to have a hard time getting over what happened. Chardon was constantly trying to get him to talk to her. Though, he didn't want to risk being grounded for any length of time if he talked about it, since Reynolds was fine, and the fight was too important.[1]
