Azrael is a low ranked Goa'uld. 20 years ago, he participated in the competition with an army of Saracens. Using a highly mobile cavalry and bold smart tactics they crushed the Roman grip on Longinus and assimilated most of the survivors in their own culture to further strengthen its military forces and dramatically raise the stakes for future attempts to dismiss them.
