Brain

From SGCommand

Jump to: navigation, search

The brain is the internal organ which controls all the bodily functions of a body, either concioussly or unconcioussly. Goa'uld symbiotes will burrow into the brain, taking control of the host. (SG1: "Children of the Gods", "The Enemy Within")

Humans use only five to ten percent of their brain power. But some Ancient technology can increase this allowing the brain supernatural abilities and/or Ascension.

The Ancients' brains (and that of Adria) were much more evolved than baseline humans, and portions of the brain had maximized synaptic activity, allowing them increased intelligence and other natural abilities, as well as mental abilities such as telekinesis, telepathy and healing. The Priors of the Ori are similarly advanced, allthough not to the same extent, mainly relying on their staffs for anything more that basic telekenisis to get it back. (SG1: "Frozen", "Avalon", "Origin", "Prototype")

When a human is evolving toward Ascension, the brains higher functions increase, but the assistence of technology can often reduce lower brain functions required for life, giving a choice between Ascension or death. (ATL: "Tao of Rodney")

The Asgard brain is significantly more advanced than humans, but less that the Ancients as they possess no special abilities. (SG1: "Fragile Balance")

A sarcophagus is incapable of healing major brain damage. (SG1: "Death Knell")
