Apophis' attack on Stargate Command 1

Following the Abydos Mission in 1996 the Stargate Program was inactivated and the Alpha Gate was mothballed. The Embarkation room was seldom visited by officers and enlisted airmen would go there to play poker. In 1997, Staff Sergeant McAtee and Airman First Class Fryatt, along with another Sergeant and another Airman, were playing poker with Weterings, who expressed unease about their presence there.

Weterings is being scanned.

Weterings felt the Stargate move, however her fellow Security Forces specialists dismissed her concerns until the Stargate activated. A Goa'uld scanning device, sent by the System Lord Apophis to search for a host for his queen Amaunet, emerged through the Stargate and Weterings, despite the warning of her fellow airmen, moved to investigate it and was scanned by the device.

Carol Weterings 1

Weterings' death at the hands of Apophis.

Following her scanning, a Goa'uld detachment of Serpent Guards led by Apophis and his First Prime, Teal'c, emerged through the Stargate, subduing Weterings with his kara kesh and killing the four other airmen, who had managed to send out a security alert. Weterings was taken back to Apophis' homeworld of Chulak where she was washed and dressed before a ceremonial examination by Amaunet, who was currently inhabiting the Jaffa priestess Yametha, as a potential host. Amunet rejected Weterings as a potential host, and she was killed by Apophis using his kara kesh. (SG1: "Children of the Gods")
