Champagne is a Tau'ri alcoholic drink mainly used for toasts and for celebratory reasons.

In 2004, after stepping through the Stargate to Atlantis, Brigadier General Jack O'Neill sent a bottle of champagne through the Gate after the Atlantis expedition, with a message saying "Bon Voyage". They later used the bottle as a toast to celebrate their alliance with the Athosians. A year later, champagne was used again through a request by Lt. Colonel John Sheppard to toast the crew of the Aurora for their accomplishments, before sacrificing themselves to destroy two Wraith cruisers, allowing the Daedalus to escape.
