Charin was an elderly Athosian woman, and a surrogate grandmother of Teyla Emmagan. She was known for her tuttleroot soup. She died of heart failure a year and a half after the Athosians relocated to Atlantica. Teyla preformed the Ring Ceremony in her honor. (ATL: "The Gift", "Critical Mass")
