People's Republic of China is a large nation-state on Earth located in the eastern portion of the Asian continent.
When Apophis attempted to invade Earth in 1998, the United States were concerned of China detecting his and Klorel's ships. (SG1: "The Serpent's Lair")
Stargate Command had worries about this nation and Russia discovering the existence of the Stargate. (SG1: "Secrets") George Hammond and Paul Davis informed the Chinese government, via an ambassador, of the existance of the Stargate in 2003. (SG1: "Disclosure")
It is noted in several instances that China is very uncomfortable with the U.S. Air Force's unilateral control of the Stargate, more so than any of the other nations involved in the program. In 2006, China supports a Russian demand for the return of their Stargate; however, this turned out to be nothing but leverage to acquire a Daedalus-class deep space carrier, and the Stargate remains in American hands. In ancient times, China was ruled by the Goa'uld Yu. (SG1: "Fair Game")
By 2009, the Chinese Government had been given a Daedalus-class deep space carrier, which they named the Sun Tzu. (ATL: "Enemy at the Gate")
