Claire Jackson was Daniel Jackson's mother and, evidently, Nicholas Ballard's daughter. She was apparently an archaeologist like her father and her husband Melburn. She and Melburn were killed in an accident at the New York Museum of Art. When Ballard refused to adopt Daniel, the young boy was put in foster care. (SG1: "The Gamekeeper", "Crystal Skull")
