Doctor Cole was a member of the Atlantis expedition's medical staff as of 2007, and a good friend of Dr. Carson Beckett. She was on call during a "mandatory rest day" established by Dr. Kate Heightmeyer, despite suffering from a migraine. Though she didn't want to call Beckett and ruin his planned fishing trip to the mainland, Beckett came in to the infirmary and took over her shift after failing to find anyone to go fishing with.

She later served as a pallbearer at Beckett's funeral service on Atlantis, carrying it through the Stargate to Earth. (ATL: "Sunday")
