Cole is a female Tau'ri who participated in the Stargate program, and was stationed at Icarus Base. In 2009, she and roughly 80 people were forced to evacuate Icarus Base during an attack against the base by three Ha'tak vessels. She ended up on the Destiny, an Ancient spaceship located several billion light years from Earth.

She was left in charge of the infirmary by Tamara Johansen when she went down to the planet Eden for a month. She was instructed to monitor Jeremy Franklin's condition and inform Johansen if there was any change. (SGU: "Faith")
