De Oppresso Liber (Latin for "To liberate the oppressed")^[1] is the motto of the United States Special Forces. Colonel Carter brought it up when SG-1 was deciding whether they should return to Turghan's village to save Nya from being stoned to death. (SG1: "Emancipation")
