- "What is a god but one that is worshipped by those beneath? Is great knowledge, power, and understanding not enough for you to revere the Ori?"
- —Doci to Daniel Jackson
The Doci is the Chief Prior who speaks the word of the Ori. He resides in the city of Celestis, his chambers adjacent to the Flames of Enlightenment.
The Doci is the most devout believer in Origin. Like the rest of the Priors, however, he is unaware of the lies of the Ori. Arguing faith with him is pointless. Daniel Jackson made his position clear to the Doci, who then led him to witness the Flames of Enlightenment, granting him an audience with the Ori themselves. The Doci often serves as a direct mouthpiece for the Ori, who literally speak through him. When this happens his eyes will glow a firery red.
After his encounter with Dr. Jackson the Ori spoke through the Doci, giving the order for more Priors and the construction of ships to spread Origin to every corner of creation. (SG1: "Origin")
When Gerak was brought to Celestis, the Doci showed him the Flames of Enlightenment, where the Ori made Gerak a Prior. (SG1: "The Fourth Horseman, Part 1")
When SG-1 was captured at Ortus Mallum after finding the Ark of Truth the Doci and the Priors tortured Daniel, Vala and Tomin before Vala was brought before Adria. When they tried to activate the Ark the Doci showed up and was protected from a staff weapon blast with a personal shield. He knocked out Teal'c and Tomin and eventually was witness to the opening and activation of the Ark. Gazing into it, he also transmitted the programming in the Ark to the other Priors in the Ori galaxy, causing them to believe that the Ori were not gods and significantly weakening Adria's power. After the destruction of Adria and Morgan Le Fay, he immediatly surrendered begging for mercy as he realized how wrong he was. He then broke down crying. (SG1: "The Ark of Truth")
