Enterprise

Enterprise is a name used for several vessels in the United States Navy, as well as NASA's prototype Space Shuttle. It is also commonly associated with the signature starship on the science fiction show Star Trek.

The name Enterprise was suggested for the X-303 by Colonel Jack O'Neill, who didn't understand the objection of Major Samantha Carter. His superiors seemed to agree with Carter. (SG1: "Unnatural Selection") For his part, Lieutenant Colonel John Sheppard, when seeking to rename the Ancient vessel Hippoforalcus, pre-emptively rejected Enterprise as a possible alternative.
