[edit] Biography
[edit] Early life
He is a former SG team leader. He is 40 years old and has been married to Emily Young since 2007. According to General Jack O'Neill, he offered Young the position of commander of the Icarus Expedition before he offered it to Telford, but Young turned him down, opting instead to try and repair his relationship with his wife. The two began having marital problems when it was discovered that Everett was having an affair with Tamara Johansen. (SGU: "Earth", "Life")
[edit] 2009
His crew was forced through the Stargate, ultimately becoming stranded on the Destiny. Young was seriously injured during their arrival and it fell to Lieutenant Matthew Scott to lead the team until he was able to recover. While recovering from his injuries, he then became team leader aboard the Destiny, but had to move slowly and walked with a limp, using his assault rifle as a crutch. However, a few days later he had recovered enough to go on a mission to "Hoth" and no longer needed the cane. (SGU: "Air", "Water")
When Destiny set its course into a star, he organized a lottery to determine which seventeen people would board an Ancient shuttle and have a chance to survive. He took his name out of the lottery and Dr. Rush's as well, at his request. (SGU: "Light")
His first off-world duty as part of the Destiny Expedition occurred on the ice planet "Hoth" where he and Matthew Scott traveled in an attempt to replenish Destiny's water supply. After Scott fell into a crack made by a localized tremor, he remained on the planet and tried to save him, putting in jeopardy their mission and his own life. (SGU: "Water")
