Extraction Ceremony
From SGCommand
The Extraction Ceremony was an aspect of the Tok'ras society.
[edit] Overview
The ceremony involved the extraction of a high ranking Goa'uld and involved the removal of the Symbiote from it's host. The accused was placed in stasis while the Tok'ra leaders chanted in their own language which contained a list of all the crimes they had committed; a process that can last upto three hours. After this was complete, the accused was brought out of stasis where they were allowed their final words.
As this was done, the accused was placed into the Symbiote extractor where the symbiote was forcibly removed from the host. The cylinder from the extractor containing the Goa'uld was then taken by the Tok'ra leader who announced the name of the accused after which it was forcibly smashed into the ground. The glass cracked and the symbiote died without its host body.
- It's not known whether this ceremony is committed on all Goa'uld or just the high ranking ones who committed the most crimes against sentients.
[edit] History
After the capture of the last System Lord Ba'al, he was transported to the Tok'ra homeworld where the ceremony lasted for three hours with SG-1 in attendance. Once completed, the symbiote was taken from the cylinder where the Tok'ra leader announced that the last of the Goa'uld System Lords reign had ended as the cylinder was thrown on the floor whereupon the Ba'al symbiote died. (SG1: "Continuum")
