The Alteran Council was the name given to the collective formed by the Alterans in the Alteran Home Galaxy. At the time the Alterans lived in fear of the Ori, who were trying to destroy them, but after the Alterans left their home galaxy the group soon evolved into the Ancient Council, which ruled over thousands of planets in at least three galaxies.
