Peter Wingfield is a Welsh actor. Born in Cardiff, Peter trained as a doctor at Brasenose College, Oxford and St. Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College, but left school just prior to graduation to become an actor. He trained with the National Youth Theatre in Wales and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. On leaving drama school in 1990, Peter made his television debut in Beeban Kidron's Screen Two production of Antonia and Jane before going on to play lead roles in three television series: Granada TV's Medics; Soldier Soldier for Central TV; and The Men's Room (1991), a five-part series for BBC TV.

For the next few years, Peter worked steadily in the UK. In 1995, he did a guest shot on Highlander: The Series playing Methos, a 5000 year old Immortal, which led to a recurring role on the series and cult status among fans. The work changed his center of operations from the UK to North America. He moved to Canada during the filming of Highlander, before returning to the UK to play Tom Kirby in the Granada Television series Noah's Ark. In 2006 he joined the cast of the popular British medical drama Holby City for 45 episodes as Medical Consultant, Daniel Clifford. He also appeared as the recurring character, Dr. James Watson on the North American series, Sanctuary and as the antagonist, Remy Farnwell, in the science fiction series 10,000 Days.

Peter holds an Advanced Level Stage fighting certificate.

As of 2011, Peter has put acting on hold and returned to medical school. He expects to graduate in 2015.
