"Mentor" is the fifth episode of Stargate Infinity.

Publisher's Summary[]

On a planet plagued by civil war, Gus and the trainees encounter Shepherd, a maverick former SG team leader who once inspired Gus. But soon, a betrayal of former friends leads the Tlak'kahn to gain control of the trainees.

Plot[]

The team intervenes on a planet when one group of the locals, the Mostari, use high-tech weapons to attack another faction – they meet up with Shepherd, a former Stargate team member who trained Gus. Shepherd claims the faction his men attacked are bandits, but his followers worship him. Gus overlooks his apparent abuse until Stacey brings him around. Knowing Gus will act against him, Shepherd summons the Tlak'khan, but when he finds out they plan to kill the team he and the locals side with Gus. Shepherd tells the Mostari to find their own way and then takes off on his own.

Notable Quotes[]

Shepherd: Hey, Gus - Stargate Command should have put up statues of both us after some of the things we did on missions.
Gus: I never looked good in marble. Besides, it wasn't in the budget.

Stacey: If you had four arms you could do twice as much work. Which would be half as much as the rest of us.
Harrison: I like to save my strength for emergencies.
