Germany is a nation-state located in central Europe on the planet Earth. Some time prior to 1928, a German expedition to Giza discovered the DHD needed to power the as yet undiscovered Stargate. The DHD later fell into the hands of the Russians at the end of World War II. (SG1: "Watergate")
In 1982, during the Cold War, a team including the then Capt. O'Neill and Kawalsky went to East Germany to a house that is suspected to house a Russian agent. However, the mission failed and O'Neill's superior officer was killed by a surprise attack from armed Russians. (SG1: "The Gamekeeper")
Germany is one of the countries that sent personnel to Atlantis and is part of the Gate Alliance Treaty. (ATL: "Rising")
