A Helicopter is a type of rotorcraft in which lift and thrust are supplied by rotors. This allows the helicopter to take off and land vertically, to hover, and to fly forwards, backwards, and laterally. While mainly used for transportation, some models such as the Apache helicopter have been heavily armed. Major John Sheppard flew Brigadier General Jack O'Neill to the Antarctic outpost in a helicopter. (SGA: "Rising")
