John de Lancie is a character actor best known for his role as recurring guest star Q on the various Star Trek series. He has also done roles on the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives from 1982 to 1986.
De Lancie also had a recurring role as NID Colonel Frank Simmons on Stargate SG-1. He has also appeared in Andromeda as Beka Valentine's Uncle Sid and recently on Charmed. He also appeared with Richard Dean Anderson in the science fiction western series Legend
