Jonathan Reed was a Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. In 1998 he and SG-10 visited the planet P3W-451 to investigate why the planet's indigenous life suddenly became extinct. He and his friends were stuck on P3W-451 when it got stuck in a black hole. Five years later (only a few hours to the team), a Tel'tak crashed on the planet and the team was shocked to discover SG-1 piloting it. Reed, an engineer, checked out the damage and determined it to be superficial, however, when a wormhole connected to a star opened, Reed wasn't able to return to the ship in time and was incinerated along with everything else on the planet. SG-1 and the rest of SG-10 managed to escape however. (SG1: "A Matter of Time", "The Cost of Honor")
