Keel was a Volian farmer who was raised by an Aschen family and thus found them to be benign and benevolent.

2001[]
His farming was often disrupted by what he called iron root, which emerged in the middle of his fields. Whilst he usually had to ask for an Harvester to remove these, when he met with SG-1 he instead offered some of his best sweet water for them to help remove it. (SG1: "2001")
