Kirtland is a Colonel in the United States Air Force in command of the starship Prometheus. Kirkland stepped down when General George Hammond arrived to lead the ship into the Battle of Antarctica, protecting SG-1 from Anubis's interstellar invasion fleet. (SG1: "Lost City, Part 2")
