The Lord Protector is a Human from the Lord Protector's Planet in the Pegasus galaxy.
He was the leader of his people and the Tower City-ship. Since he had the Ancient Technology Activation Gene, he had access to several Ancient technologies left behind from the Lanteans 10,000 years ago, including a Control chair. He has a son and a daughter named Tavius and Mara. When he learned of John Sheppard's possession of the gene, he wanted him to marry Mara so that Tavius wouldn't ascent to the throne.
He was slowly poisoned by Otho over the duration of several months via his food, until he finally died in 2006. (ATL: "The Tower")
