Melburn Jackson was the father of Daniel Jackson and, evidently, an archaeologist. He and his wife Claire were killed in an accident at the New York Museum of Art in approximately 1973. Eight-year-old Daniel was put into foster care. (SG1: "The Gamekeeper", "Crystal Skull")
