Morrison was a lieutenant in the United States Air Force with a diverse range of skills that resulted in his transfer to Stargate Command. There, he served as part of SG-3, participating in an important mission to P3S-452. While the mission was a success, Morrison was injured while carrying it out. He later joined the Atlantis expedition on recommendation from the Pentagon. He became a valued and popular member of the expedition, before he was killed by a group of Human-form Wraiths that were meant to be under his guard.

Born in Carson City, Nevada on the 17 February 1975, nothing is known of Morrison's past until he completed an apprenticeship as a mechanic in his home state. After this, Morrison enrolled in the United States Air Force and was able to complete basic training in Texas, before being transferred to the prestigious Air Force Special Operations Command in Florida. It was here that Morrison specialised in covert operations, intelligence gathering, rescue, and reconnaissance. In addition to this, Morrison also became an extremely experienced pilot, becoming both a specialist pilot as well as a field operative. With these skills in hand, Morrison was deployed in the Middle East, and later Africa, flying covert missions in both locations. Later, Morrison was asked to Area 51 in order to undergo preliminary tests to gain admission into the Stargate Programme. (ATL: "The DVD Collection 84")

Thanks to these tests, Morrison was assigned to Stargate Command, and in 2001 was part of SG-3—who had been temporarily assigned Teal'c—who were sent to P3S-452 by Major General Henry Bauer to recover naquadah from a Goa'uld stronghold. Though they were successful in retrieving the naquadah, Morrison was wounded and Major Wade—another member of SG-3—was killed. Nevertheless, Morrison continued to provide cover fire for the rest of his team as they escaped back to Earth through the Stargate. Upon returning to the SGC, Morrison's injuries were tended to by medics who were able to stop his bleeding before taking him to the infirmary. (SG1: "Chain Reaction")

This injury was not severe enough to stop Morrison serving in the Air Force, however, and he later joined the second wave of USAF personnel to be sent to the Pegasus galaxy in order to serve the Atlantis expedition. Having been highly recommended by the Pentagon, as well as his former colleagues and commanders, Elizabeth Weir gladly welcomed his experience and professionalism. After receiving gene therapy to gain the ATA gene, Morrison was trained to fly puddle jumpers out of Atlantis. Morrison was quick to make friends among his peers and became an enthusiastic member of the team, warmly welcomed by others, and in no time was assigned to a reconnaissance team. In this function, Morrison undertook many missions where he gathered considerable amounts of intelligence. (ATL: "The DVD Collection 84")

After the Atlantis expedition managed to turn a hive ship full of Wraith into Humans, Morrison's team was assigned to supervise their camp to ensure that nothing went wrong. When Colonel John Sheppard and the rest of Atlantis 1 left on the Daedalus, Morrison's team was ordered to stay behind to guard Doctor Carson Beckett in case any of the Wraith reverted to their true form. While Sheppard was away, one of the Wraith—Lathan—went missing though this incident was unreported until Sheppard returned. At that time, Morrison helped in the search for Lathan, and searched the area near a river. Before Morrison was able to find Lathan, however, Michael Kenmore and a group of Human-form Wraith located and murdered Lathan, leaving his dead body halfway up a ridge which ran south of the camp. It was there that he was found by Morrison, who assumed that Lathan had been trying to climb and lost his footing. After reporting this in to Sheppard, Lathan's body was returned to the camp.

After this, Sheppard and his team returned to Lantea on the Daedalus during which time several of the Human-form Wraith started to revert to their true state. Unfortunately for Morrison, his team was not enough to contain the threat and so both he and every member of his team was murdered, the only true Human left on the planet being Carson Beckett. (ATL: "Misbegotten") Nevertheless, Weir was sure that Morrison did everything he could to control the situation, and considered his death to be a terrible blow to the expedition. [edit] Behind the scenes

There have been two "Lieutenant Morrison's" in the Stargate universe, one who appeared in the Stargate SG-1 episode "Chain Reaction" and another who appeared in the Stargate: Atlantis episode "Misbegotten". Though it is unknown if these two characters are meant to be the same person, and indeed it is unknown who played the part of the former, for the purposes of this article they are assumed to be the same.
