The nanite lab was a laboratory located in Atlantis. After the storm season on Lantea, members of the Atlantis expedition located the lab to check for any damage. Two of the scientists exposed themselves to the nanites, soon infecting all the other members that had gone down to the lower levels. Luckily, the nanites were later neutralized with an EMP pulse from an overloading naquadah generator. (SGA: "Hot Zone")
It would be two years before the Atlantis Expedition discovered what the true purpose of the lab was: the Lanteans were developing nanites to help them in their war with the Wraith—nanites which later evolved into the Asurans. (SGA: "Progeny")
