Nazi

From SGCommand

The Achilles transporting the Stargate out of Egypt, protecting it from the Nazis.

Nazis were members of the National Socialist German Workers' party of Germany, which in 1933, under Adolf Hitler, seized political control of the country, suppressing all opposition and establishing a dictatorship over all cultural, economic, and political activities of the people, and promulgated belief in the supremacy of Hitler as Führer, aggressive anti-Semitism, the natural supremacy of the German people, and the establishment of Germany by superior force as a dominant world power. The party was officially abolished in 1945 at the conclusion of World War II. In most Earth cultures, their name and that of their leader have become synonymous with absolute evil, hence Daniel Jackson's expression that a Harcesis would be born with "the memories of a thousand Hitlers." (SG1: "Absolute Power")

[edit] Nazis and the Stargate

After the Stargate's discovery in Giza in 1928, it remained in Egypt until 1939. Still having no knowledge on what the gate was for, they feared it be some kind of weapon and had to prevent the Nazis from getting their hands on it because they were at the brink of the Second World War. The gate was transported from Egypt to the United States by the freighter Achilles. (Stargate) (SG1: "Continuum")

Earth's Alpha Gate was missing its DHD when first discovered. The DHD had not been destroyed, merely lost. Nazi Germany removed it from Egypt during World War II, and the Soviet Union subsequently captured it at the end of the war. It passed into the possession of the Russian Federation after the Soviet Union's fall. (SG1: "Watergate")

[edit] Nazis and the Goa'uld

Sekhmet was a Goa'uld who, at one time, was a loyal servant to the Supreme System Lord Ra. To make sure she never escaped his wrath, Ra put her into a canopic jar, which was later acquired by Nazi Germany. Sekhmet owned a Goa'uld Ark bomb during her time on Earth before she was placed in the Stasis jar. It, along with several other artifacts, were recovered by Napoleon Bonaparte and later by the Nazis; eventually, they were acquired by a rogue NID cell that used them to create a Goa'uld/human hybrid. (SG1: "Resurrection") The man responsible for this project, Dr. Keffler, was himself the son of a Nazi war criminal, and seemed to have inherited their disregard for human life and dignity.

[edit] Notes

The Eurondans show obvious resemblances, through their actions and racial ideology, to the Nazis during World War II. Their dependence on heavy water recalls the sabotage of heavy water shipments for the Nazi nuclear programme, and the embattled bunker suggests the Führerbunker in 1945. Further, Alar's wish to follow SG-1 back to safety so that he might work as a scientist for them parallels the Allied use and forgiveness of Nazi scientists in the Cold War. (SG1: "The Other Side")
