Olesia was a world in the Pegasus galaxy of beauty, long-void of threats of Wraith cullings. The planet possesses significant deposits of a volatile ore which the Olesian government hoped to trade to the people of Atlantis.
Olesia possesses an island amidst a great ocean where the government's prisoners are kept. It is this island that has kept the Wraith culling close to the Stargate, away from the main population. These arrangements changed, however, when Dr. Elizabeth Weir allowed the prisoners to escape through the Stargate, forcing the Wraith to approach and cull from the average population, most likely destroying much of their civilization in the process.
