Description[]
Hou Kainga is a volcanically active water-rich world that is covered with water in over 85% of the surface. With the exception of an uninhabited desert continent in the northern hemisphere, the land area was entirely composed of volcanic island chains. Hou Kainga's soil is rich in a variety of tropical vegetation ranging from simple ferns and mosses to high broad-leaved trees. The beaches are black with glittering turquoise waters and a backdrop of lush greenery. Due to its extensive water coverage, Hou Kainga is prone to vicious superstorms.
The fauna of Hou Kainga have reached a stage of development roughly equivalent to Earth's late Cretaceous era, the land is dominated by six-legged reptiles and the largest of these are man-size.
The world has a naquadah-rich mantle and composition, with the substance dispersed throughout the entire ecosystem.
History[]
Approximately 1,500 years ago, Jaffa servants of the System Lord Olokun discovered Hou Kainga's Stargate address during an exploration of Ancient ruins on another world. The planet is not known in the majority of the System Lords, nor is it on the Abydos Cartouche. Olokun took the planet in its domain and killed all the Jaffa who knew about the planet and he placed a group of people of Tahiti descent.
