Patrick Sheppard was Dave and John Sheppard's father.

Patrick was a wealthy industrialist and had houses all across the United States. He already planned John's life by the time he was fourteen years old, despite him having other plans. They both argued and put a big strain on their realtionship. Eventually they parted ways and never saw each other again. However, Patrick regretted the split ever since, and wanted to become closer to John, but he couldn't. By the beginning of 2008, he died of a heart attack aged 69. (ATL: "Outcast")
