Major Paul Davis is a person who goes by the book for which he is respected by his fellow workers. As a liaison between Stargate Command and the Pentagon, he is often seen at the SGC, helping Stargate Command when they come in conflict with other nations on Earth and other portions of the United States government.
[edit] Biography
Major Davis served as the President's messenger. Later, Davis was one of the people at the SGC to be captured and impersonated by an unknown alien race. When SG-1 tried to stop the Replicators from becoming a threat to Earth, Major Davis oversaw their attempts. He inquired if any Goa'uld technologies they've collected can stop these machines; Teal'c responds that energy weapons are ineffective and only projectile based weapons can destroy them. Major Davis later helped SGC to rescue Colonel Jack O'Neill and Teal'c after they were "captured" in the X-301. He also assisted Daniel Jackson in negotiations with the Russians for their Dial Home Device when Teal'c was stuck in the wormhole after the Gate deactivated. (SG1: "Out of Mind", "Into the Fire", "Foothold", "Nemesis", "Small Victories", "Tangent", "48 Hours")
Davis joined SG-1 on a mission to investigate Anubis' Ha'tak that suddenly appeared in Earth orbit. Later, He assisted SG-1 to stop a reporter from exposing the new Prometheus project. He worked together with General Hammond in presenting the Stargate Program to representatives of the UN Security Council. As claimed by Lt. Col. Cameron Mitchell in 2005, Major Davis helped the Jaffa set up a new government based on democratic ideals. (SG1: "Descent", "Prometheus", "Avalon, Part 1")
In 2009, Major Davis, now a member of Homeworld Security, coordinated Earth's forces against a ZPM powered hive ship along with Samantha Carter, who was temporarily in charge of the SGC. (ATL: "Enemy at the Gate")
[edit] Alternate realities
In an alternate timeline, a moustached Major Davis recruited the alternate versions of Daniel Jackson and Samantha Carter for a mission to Ancient Egypt to restore the original timeline. (SG1: "Moebius, Part 1")
[edit] Note
Major Davis is often jokingly referred to by fans as 'Major Disaster' Davis, as he only ever appears at Stargate Command when a serious crisis takes place.
