Poker

SG-1 playing poker.

"When I was a kid, my dad used to have these weekly poker games. All I remember is smoke making my eyes water. I'm starting to wish I'd paid more attention."
Elizabeth Weir[src]

Poker was a game originating from Earth in which players gamble in an attempt to gain more money. Las Vegas is widely associated with poker.

In 1997, a group of United States Air Force officers, including Fryatt, McAtee and Carol Weterings were playing a game of poker in the abandoned Embarkation room. The game was however cut short when the Stargate activated, and Apophis arrived with his Jaffa, who kidnapped Weterings and killed the others. This incident ultimately led to the reactivation of the Stargate Program. (SG1: "Children of the Gods")

Elizabeth Weir's father was known to play poker every week when she was a child. Although she admitted to not paying much attention to his activities, Daniel Jackson noted that she probably did after bluffing Amaterasu, Camulus and Yu-huang Shang Ti into thinking the drone chair in Antarctica was still operational. (SG1: "New Order, Part 1")

In 2006, after SG-1, except for Dr. Daniel Jackson had some time off and went to Major General Jack O'Neill's cabin, the team played poker, and played for chips, where Lt. Colonel Samantha Carter won. (SG1: "Uninvited")
