- "Ra took him and possessed his body, like some kind of a parasite looking for a host."
- ―Daniel Jackson[src]
Ra is the first Tau'ri to be taken as a host by a Goa'uld.
Biography[]
Background information[]
When a dying Goa'uld, also known as Ra, discovered Earth in 8,000 BC, he found it was inhabited by a primitive race that could be used for hosts, slaves and foot soldiers. As his mothership descended over the North African desert, frightened villagers ran, but Ra's future host curiously approached Ra's ship. Ra rewarded his curiosity with ten thousand years of enslavement trapped inside his own body. (Stargate)
1996[]
Ra still possessed this body when Colonel Jack O'Neill and Dr. Daniel Jackson encountered him on Abydos in 1996. This host, along with Ra, was ultimately destroyed by a nuclear bomb.
Considering the thousands years he spent trapped inside his own body, his death was probably merciful. Jackson referred to him as being "a young boy," although he appears to be his late teens or early twenties. He is also referred to as being "Egyptian" although Daniel Jackson stated that the Egyptian culture didn't exist ten thousand years ago. (Stargate) (SG1: "Children of the Gods", "The Enemy Within")
