Red Guard 1 was a guard who was a Tok'ra operative who secretly served in Apophis' court.

He was tasked to send a signal during a reunion between Apophis and Heru'ur, so a reprogrammed mine from the powerful Tobin mine field would be attracted to Apophis' mothership, luring the System Lord into believing that Heru'ur attacked and starting a war between the two Goa'uld that would weaken them both in favor of the other System Lords. However, this mission was ultimately a failure; though the mine did attack Apophis' flagship and turned Apophis against Heru'ur, the former had brought a cloaked fleet, killed Heru'ur and fled, the other ships covering his retreat.
