Samantha Carter was an android created by Harlan on Altair to have the physical appearance and consciousness of the original Samantha Carter. The duplicate Carter, along with doubles of the rest of SG-1, were left stranded on Altair with the duplicate O'Neill's promise that they would bury their Stargate. (SG1: "Tin Man")
Instead, however, they went on their own missions to fight the Goa'uld. It was on a mission to Juna where the duplicates of Carter, Daniel, and Teal'c were captured by Cronus. Upon learning SG-1 was not human when Daniel was executed, Cronus had them taken to his ship to be studied. Later, Carter tricked a Goa'uld into activating Daniel's self-destruct so she could escape. She helped the real SG-1 seal off the other levels of the ship trapping the Jaffa, however she was killed in the process. (SG1: "Double Jeopardy")
