[edit] History
[edit] Marriage
Sha're was born and raised on Abydos, the daughter of Kasuf and sister of Skaara.
When a Tau'ri team of explorers arrived through the Stargate (their first mission), they quickly became friends of the local population, supporting and defending them from Ra. Sha're was presented as a "gift" to the team's scientist; Daniel Jackson, from Abydos' elders. Sha're pronounced Daniel Jackson's first name as /danˌjɛlˈ/ rather than as /dænˈjəlˌ/.
Later, when Ra and his Jaffa were killed by the uprising Abydonian population, Daniel voluntarily remained on the planet to live with Sha're, whom he now had feelings for.
[edit] Host to Amaunet
After only a year of marital bliss, Abydos was attacked by the Goa'uld System Lord Apophis and his Goa'uld Scout Team, seeking potential hosts for his beloved queen Amaunet. Sha're was captured by Apophis' First Prime; Teal'c, and Apophis subdued her with his Hand Device. Apophis, at first sight, desired Sha're for her beauty.
Sha're was brought to Chulak, along with Skaara, and later separated from him and, after being stripped, bathed and dressed in a diaphorous gown, kept in a chamber with other women, all potential applicants for being a host.
Following Sergeant Carol Keterings rejection, Teal'c selected Sha're and she was brought to Apophis. Sha're struggled all the way, something that Apophis admired and furthered his attraction. Sha're was once again subdued with Apophis' hand device, and, her motor functions frozen and unable to move her body, Sha're was promptly stripped naked and placed upon an alter. Amaunet was brought out, and this time was pleased with the potential host. Amaunet then pierced Sha're's neck and entered her body, gaining dominance within seconds.
After failing to rescue Sha're, Daniel, who by this time had returned to Earth, resolved to stay with Stargate Command, to continue his passionate search about rescuing her. This search would go on for 2 and a half years.
[edit] Pregnancy
With Amaunet still controlling her, Sha're was forced to mate with Apophis' host and become pregnant with their son; a Harcesis, a human child of Goa'uld parents who possessed all Goa'uld knowledge, and as such the act was forbidden. Apophis wished the child to be his new host, and as such hid Sha're away on Abydos so the child's existence wouldn't be revealed to his enemies. Sha're at this time regained control of her body, with Amaunet being forced to sleep or risk making the child stillborn although its indicated that Sha're was either in control or had some measure of control as she looked right at SG-1 and never revealed their presence to Apophis.
In the final stages of her pregnancy, Sha're was confronted by Daniel and Teal'c once again. Sha're planned to return with them to Stargate Command, to ensure the child's safety, surrender Amaunet's Goa'uld knowledge, and possibly find a way to suppress the symbiote permanently. As they arrived at the Stargate, however, Heru'ur, seeking to capture Amaunet and the child, arrived in his ship. The arrival of Heru'ur induced labor, forcing Sha're to birth, and as such Amaunet regained control. Fleeing Heru'ur, they hide in the cave where they once hid from Ra. Sha're did not wish for Amaunet to awaken once her child is born but Daniel promised that he'd always be with her. When the child is born, Amaunet takes over, demanding that he hand over the child. But Teal'c, disguised as a Horus guard, said that Heru'ur will take the child and zatted her. Amaunet fed this disinformation to Apophis.
[edit] Death
Following the fall of Apophis, Amaunet declared allegiance to Heru'ur, and, a year after her son's birth, led a Horus Guard squad to Abydos to find him. The effort succeeded, and Amaunet took many Abydonians back to their base as slaves. SGC military personnel led a rescue effort, but not in time to stop Amaunet to send her son off with one of her handmaidens to sanctuary on Kheb, where she hoped the System Lords wouldn't find him. As Amaunet's forces were decimated, Daniel confronted her in her tent, and desperately tried to reach Sha're, though her personality was still controlled. Amaunet then began attacking Daniel with her hand device, but before she could kill him, Teal'c arrived and, knowing their was no other way, shot Sha're. Sha're somehow managed to send Daniel a message through the hand device about the Harcesis child and his location. Amaunet died first, allowing Sha're to gain dominance in the last seconds of her life, which she used to tell Daniel she loved him. Sha're was then buried on Abydos.
[edit] Behind the scenes
Her name in the Stargate movie was Sha'uri, until that was retconned by the writers of the Stargate SG-1 series.
