The society research lab, also called the "game room", is an area on Atlantis which was found by Dr. McKay and Lt. Col. Sheppard during the Atlantis Expedition's first year in Atlantis. Originally they both thought it was a game where they were in control of a town separated by a river and they made divisions what to do with their town. Later they found out their towns were actually real places on another planet. The info typed into the computer by McKay or Sheppard was relayed from Atlantis through subspace to a grid of satellites over the planet. The commands where then relayed to stations in the two towns where the people of the town listened and went through with the commands. Dr. Weir later ordered the room sealed and the power cut.
