Sparring

Sparring is a form of sport used to train people in fighting. Ronon Dex and John Sheppard often perform sparring sessions, as a form of leisure (at least for Ronon). (ATL: "Sunday", "Doppelganger")
Jaffa often spar with each other when training or practicing for combat. Usually, Jaffa warriors in training will use bashak staffs. Bra'tac notes that despite his age, he has never lossed a sparring match to Teal'c. Teal'c claims that he let Bra'tac win. (SG1: "The Warrior", "Orpheus")
